Officials: 12-year-old boy hospitalized after Akita bite
NORTH CAROLINA -- A 12-year-old boy was hurt when a large dog attacked him at a home near Newell.
An Akita bit the boy in the arm Tuesday night at an apartment on Avebury Drive.
An Akita is a large breed that originated from Japan.
The dog in under quarantine and the boy was taken to the hospital to be treated.
