Roanoke County police investigating animal cruelty case

VIRGINIA -- Police in Roanoke County are investigating allegations of animal cruelty and crimes against nature.

According to court records, investigators believe a Roanoke County man sexually abused at least two dogs, and shared images of the acts on a pornographic website.

Roanoke County Police searched a home on Cove Hollow Road Friday morning.

The search warrant indicates they seized a computer, discs, cameras, cell phones and four dogs.

The affidavit indicates the case originated with a detective in Fairfax County, who was investigating the distribution of obscene materials through the internet.

No one has been charged with a crime.  Investigators say they plan to present the case to an upcoming grand jury in Roanoke County.

Here’s the news release from the Roanoke County Police Department:

The Roanoke County Police Department served a search warrant on a house in the 7300 block of Cove Hollow Road. The search was obtained in reference to an investigation that originated with the Fairfax County Police Department. The investigation is on-going and is in reference to an animal cruelty and crimes against nature investigation.

A suspect has been identified, but due to the fact that the investigation is still in progress we will not be identifying them. This case will be presented to the next meeting of the Roanoke County Grand Jury for indictments. This investigation is being worked by both the Roanoke County & Fairfax County Police Departments.
