Shocking pictures show cat who was burned alive and dumped in horrific case of animal cruelty

PHILIPPINES -- Shocking images have emerged of a cat who is believed to have been burned alive before being cruelly dumped in a pile of rubbish for up to a week.

The pictures were shared on Facebook by an animal rescue organization in the Philippines, who came to the cat's aid when she was found by a passer-by.

Philippine Animal Rescue Team commented: "Phoenix was found and rescued by a concerned citizen in a pile of garbage.

"She initially thought that the cat was just covered in caked-on mud but after a closer look and hearing the cat cry out in pain when she picked her up to clean her, she realized that the cat was badly charred.

"We immediately answered the call for help and rushed her to Pendragon Veterinary clinic where she is now confined and undergoing treatment."

Staff at the clinic believe that Phoenix was burned alive up to a week before she was found, judging by the painful, partially-healed second degree burns on her face and body.

Of her treatment, they said: "To help with faster healing, ointment is applied on her burns twice a day. Not an easy task because it’s painful for her whenever and wherever she is touched.

"She is on painkillers and anti-inflammatory to minimize pain and discomfort as much as possible.
She is also on antibiotics to fight off the secondary infection, and is on a nebulizer every four hours to help treat her respiratory infection.

"Phoenix is also blind in both eyes, possibly due to the way her eyelids healed and attached itself to her eyeballs.

"Most likely due to the pain, Phoenix is not eating so she is being given fluid therapy."

The charity and veterinary surgery are appealing for help from concerned citizens to fund her treatment and recovery through donations.

Photographs posted in a later update by P.A.R.T. show that Phoenix is making progress, but she still has a long way to go in her recovery.

  1. It is sad to try to save this cat.. Why don't they put her out of her misery???? It is sick to keep her alive knowing she is in pain 24 hours a day... I hope that God takes her before too long.. she is suffering and it is awful they are making her go through treatment.. it is like they are torturing the poor thing every single day!!

    1. if there was no worth, the clinic wouldn't waste materials and invest in expensive treatments to save the cat... They know what they're doing, chill ! They study their entire life for saving animals, so they wouldn't make ir suffer needlessly
