North Carolina: Puppy Stolen From Animal Control has Been Found, Woman Charged

NORTH CAROLINA -- The Salisbury woman who was wanted for stealing a puppy from Rowan Animal Control on May 26 in the 1400 block of Julian Road has been arrested.

Cindy Wilson, 47, has been charged with felony larceny. She appeared before a magistrate and was then released on written promise to appear Thursday in court.

According to investigators, Wilson came in Rowan Animal Control and went into a back room to look at the puppy before picking it up and heading towards the door. Surveillance video shows her leaving the parking lot quickly with the puppy.

After investigators identified Wilson as the suspect, they went to her High Rock Lake area home and found the puppy there with her.

The puppy was returned to Animal Control by a sheriff’s detective.
