NORTH CAROLINA -- A Raleigh woman faces felony animal cruelty charges after animal control officers said they found seven dogs being kept in a single room without enough food or water.
According to an arrest warrant, investigators went to the home of 52-year-old Lesa Ann Tant in the 2700 block of Parkway Drive on June 16 after getting a call about the dogs.
They said they found a large amount of urine and feces spread throughout the home and a strong smell of ammonia.
The ammonia levels were determined to be borderline unlivable and several of the dogs were in bad condition medically and malnourished.
A total of 16 dogs were removed from the home. Three are now available for adoption.
