West Louisville man, Michael Jones, charged with animal cruelty

KENTUCKY -- A 29-year-old Louisville man is facing several charges after police say he neglected his dog.

According to the arrest report, it happened just after 7 a.m. Sunday outside the victim's residence on N. 29th street in west Louisville. That's where officers were sent after receiving a complaint from neighbors about Michael Casey Jones.

Officers say Jones was inside his home when they arrived, but he allegedly left his dog tied to the wheel of his vehicle with no food or shelter. After officers arrived, police say Jones came back outside and began yelling and threatening his neighbors.

Police ordered Jones to go back inside, but he refused. Instead police say Jones, "began yelling with regards to his dog, stating he kicks his dog every day."

According to the arrest report, police again ordered Jones to go back into his home, and, "he then went inside and returned back to the public sidewalk yelling obscenities."

Police say Jones was arrested and put into a police vehicle where, "he immediately kicked out the right rear window, causing it to shatter."

Jones remains jailed at Louisville Metro Corrections on charges of animal cruelty, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
