NEW YORK -- The village of Boonville Police charged a Boonville man with aggravated animal cruelty.
According to officials, on Sunday, August 16, at around 5:05 p.m., they received a complaint of animal cruelty located on Main Street.
The investigation led to the arrest of 54-year-old Ronald Mooney.
Witnesses, along with evidence gathered through the investigation, showed that Mooney had allegedly beaten his cat to death with a blunt object.
Mooney was charged with one count of aggravated animal cruelty, along with one count of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals.
He was arraigned in the Town of Boonville Court, where he was sent to Oneida County Jail.
