FLORIDA -- A 26-year-old man was arrested late Tuesday after he allegedly stabbed a dog in the neck during a confrontation with its owner.
Anthony Bruce Lewis, of Paisley, was charged with animal cruelty and remained in the Lake County Jail Wednesday morning in lieu of $2,000 bail.
According to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office report, Lewis approached the Pine Hills home of Arthur Cornette Monday with a knife to confront him about a child abuse allegation.
The reports add Lewis walked to his gate and asked for Cornette. When Cornette’s dog approached the gate, Lewis allegedly leaned over the fence and stabbed the animal in the neck.
Lewis then got into a vehicle and left.
Lewis denied stabbing the dog to deputies. Witnesses reportedly told deputies that Lewis yelled he that stabbed the dog just after the incident. The dog was taken to a emergency veterinary clinic, and it was doing well after extensive surgery.
