Last weekend, Janice Moore was inside her home along Pressley Road when she heard a gunshot outside, according to the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.

Moore found the 13-year-old gray horse, appropriately named Grey, lying in their pasture with a small bullet hole in its front, left shoulder, reports say.

Moore said she called her husband who came home and called a veterinarian to come help the horse. When deputies arrived, they said they could not find any shell casings.

Shortly after, the Moore's decided to euthanize Grey. “We are really hurting,” a family member said. “This horse was like family.”
