Couple faces animal cruelty charges for leaving puppy in hot car

TENNESSEE -- Two people were booked in jail after leaving a 3-month-old puppy in a hot car parked at Wolfchase Galleria.

It happened in July. Some people walking by noticed the Shorkie (Yorkshire Terrier / Shih Tzu mix)  and tried to save it.

They pulled the small terrier out of the car and rushed him to the vet, but it was too late. The vet could not save the dog.

It took two hours before the owner finished her shopping and returned to her vehicle.

Charlie Parker and Alexis Cain both face charges of aggravated cruelty to animals.
