Dog dies from heat, owner charged with animal cruelty

PENNSYLVANIA -- Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg are charging a man with animal cruelty after his dog was left outside in the heat, and died.

They say Dwight Parker, who lives on Brindle Hill Court in Guilford Township, tied his dog outside without any shelter from the sun.

The dog died due to the heat.

They say this happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, and WHAG meteorologists reported high temperatures in the lower 90's that day.
