Four-year-old Australian girl mauled by two American Bulldogs

AUSTRALIA -- A YOUNG girl has suffered leg and arm injuries in a dog attack in northwest Victoria.

The attack happened in Mildura at about 1.40pm, with two dogs  —  believed to be American Bulldogs  —  taken from the scene.

The four-year-old girl was taken to Mildura Base Hospital, although her injuries were not life threatening.

The attack occurred in the backyard of a house in Elswood Crescent.

Local council officers seized the dogs from the home with the cooperation of the owner.

The Mildura Rural City Council would investigate, General Manager (Development) Kirsten Alexander said.

“Council can confirm a dog attack occurred at a residence in Mildura this afternoon,” Ms Alexander said.

“Council Local Laws staff have attended the property and removed two dogs, believed to be American Bulldogs.

“The dogs will now be held at our Animal Shelter pending a full investigation into the incident.”
