Dogs rescued from puppy mill ready for adoption

GEORGIA -- Around 40 Boykin Spaniels were rescued from a Georgia puppy mill and some are now ready for adoption.

On August 21, the Atlanta Humane Society assisted in the rescue of the dogs from a puppy mill in Stephens County.

An estimated 40 total dogs were removed from the property.

According to the Atlanta Humane Society, the dogs belonged to a licensed breeder who had received numerous violations from the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

The dogs were kept in deplorable conditions. Some dogs were kept in single kennels, while others were in large penned areas outdoors, the Atlanta Humane Society said.
