Jonathan Blais, 37, charged with animal cruelty after hanging his Australian Shepherd to death

MAINE -- An Orrington man is facing animal cruelty charges for allegedly killing a dog by hanging it.

Authorities say 37-year-old Jonathan Blais strung up the ten-month-old Australian Cattle Dog in a barn.

This after it reportedly knocked his two-year-old daughter down. He was arrested on an unrelated domestic disturbance charge as well as a probation violation.

The felony animal cruelty charge was tacked on after Blais spoke with police.
