ARIZONA -- An 18-year-old Phoenix man was arrested on Saturday under suspicion of animal cruelty after allegedly neglecting to take care of a dog he found.
According to court documents, Juan Rocha found a dog on Friday night and tied it up to a tree.
Police were called to the home near Roeser Road and 16th Street on Saturday and told Rocha to provide the dog with water and that it would be picked up by Arizona Humane Society.
Rocha told officers that he wanted AHS to pick the dog up.
Two hours later, the dog was found dead near 16th Street and Broadway allegedly dumped by Rocha and his friends.
He was arrested and booked into jail on one count of animal cruelty.
