"Something We've Not Seen"; TH Code Enforcement Sees Gruesome Animal Cruelty Case

INDIANA -- "This takes animal cruelty to a whole different degree." That's how Terre Haute animal control officer, Steve Williams, summarized a disturbing discovery this afternoon.

Code Enforcement was dispatched to a gruesome scene in an alleyway between 15th and 16th Street.
There, they found several bags of dead animals, which were dismembered and skinned.

The majority of the animals were goats, but animal control officers suspect one or two could be a dog or a coyote.

They believe the incident occurred sometime over the weekend.

As you can imagine, this was a scene unfamiliar to animal control officers, and they have no understanding of a motive.

"That we do not know. It's a little early to speculate on something like that. But it's definitely something that we've not seen," Williams said. "Something new. We're pretty upset by it. It's pretty, it's pretty gruesome."

If you have any information, call the Terre Haute Police and ask for animal control. The number is 812-238-1661
