Tiny fawn found alone in busy downtown Edwardsville rescued by Sheriff's deputies

ILLINOIS -- A fawn was recently found  in downtown Edwardsville, IL, and cared for by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the department’s Facebook page, the fawn was found alone and hiding in rose bushes near the Sheriff’s Office, which is located on Randle Street, just about a block from each of the busy streets of IL routes 157 and 159.

Some residents were concerned that the baby deer wasn’t truly abandoned and that a mother may come looking for it, but, for the safety of the fawn, the Edwardsville Police Department arranged for it to go to an animal sanctuary.
