Cornish man denies dog attack which left grandfather 'scalped'

UNITED KINGDOM -- A Cornish man has denied his dog was responsible for an attack which left a grandfather scalped and requiring surgery.

Paul Francis Charles Lindsay-Jones, of Salmon Row, Truro, pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Truro Crown Court on Friday.

The 52-year-old is accused of being the owner of a dog, described as a Rottweiler - Mastiff  mix, which was dangerously out of control in a public place and caused injury to a person.

Peter Fitzgerald required surgery after the incident which is alleged to have occurred in Truro on June 20.

Lindsay-Jones, who was released on conditional bail, will face trial on February 5.
