Shirley Sanders, 66, was taking her morning walk on CR 748 when the dogs pounced.
"She loves to walk and she was about a block down the road here when two dogs attacked her," said Raye Williams, the victim's sister. "A friend that was passing by saw it and was able to come to her rescue."
Sanders was bitten on her arms and legs.
"That dog had gashed her real bad," said Zachary Petitt, who rescued Sanders.
She lost so much blood, she had to be rushed by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Family members said Sanders was doing better Friday afternoon..
Deputies are still searching for the dogs that attacked Sanders.
"If this dog hurt somebody, we got to get it up," said BCSO Patrol Capt. Richard Foreman."We have a lot of kids in the area and a lot of older folks that live around here, so we got to pick it up."
Neighbors complain that people often dump dogs in the area.
"Pit bulls, German Shepherds, little ones, big ones, coming in this neighborhood," said Roosevelt Thompson.
