FLORIDA -- A DeFuniak Springs Police Department officer was bitten Thursday morning while responding to an aggressive dog complaint.
The officer was called to a home on U.S. Highway 90 after a woman complained she was charged by two pit bulls which attempted to bite her while she was taking out trash.
When the officer arrived, the dogs charged him.
He fended the dogs off in the first attack, but was bitten when one of them lunged for a second time.
The dogs were taken into custody by the Walton County Sheriff's Office Animal Control.
The officer was treated for a bite wound.
Authorities are still looking for the owner.
