NEBRASKA --A Lincoln man is mourning the loss of his cat, which was found shot on Dec. 20.
The owner discovered his cream-colored tabby was hurt when it returned from being outside of his home in the 2800 block of Northwest Ninth Street just before 3:30 p.m., Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood said.
The cat was taken to a veterinarian and a .22 caliber bullet was found lodged between its shoulder blades. The cat had to be euthanized, Flood said.
The shooting is being investigated by Animal Control. No suspects have been identified.
