ILLINOIS -- A Quincy man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of cruel treatment to animals, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to the Quincy Police Department, police and the city's animal control officer were called to a home on Granview Drive to investigate an animal cruelty report.
An investigation showed that a 6-month-old kitten had been thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious. The kitten was taken to a veterinarian, where no serious or permanent injuries were found.
Police subsequently arrested Christopher Gibson, 23, in connection with the incident. Gibson was released on a notice to appear in court.
