IOWA -- The Webster County attorney reports an arrest warrant has been issued Tuesday for a man accused of burning his dog by throwing hot grease on him.
Gary A. Wilson, 52, of Fort Dodge, is charged in the animal torture case.
Authorities said the dog named Bob suffered second- and third-degree burns to his head and face. Wilson failed to take the dog to a veterinarian for needed care.
The incident is alleged to have happened on Nov. 18. A criminal complaint in the case was filed on Tuesday.
Authorities said the dog is being cared for by his other owner who doesn't live with Wilson.
Animal torture is an aggravated misdemeanor under Iowa law. The case remains under investigation.
