Beth Russo said she was walking her dog Friday night when one of her neighbor's dogs - she thinks it was a pit bull - charged into her yard and attacked her, leaving her bruised and bandaged.
"I was screaming and crying. I said 'your dog just attacked me, go get him," she said Saturday.
Her husband rushed her to the hospital. She said she was bitten once near her knee and again on her upper thigh. She's home now, but uncomfortable.
"I'm extremely scared. I had nightmares all night long. I'm very scared. I don't want to leave my house anymore."
ABC7 reached out to Collier County Animal Services about the incident. They said one of their officers should be investigating and putting the dog under quarantine soon. The sheriff's office is also investigating.
The dog's owners would not comment.
