TENNESSEE -- A Murfreesboro police officer was attacked by three dogs while he was trying to find out where the animals lived, according to a police report.
The officer reported he was called in reference to a dog bite early Sunday afternoon.
When he arrived in the Foxdale Drive area, he saw the three dogs running up the road and another car following them.
He contacted the driver, who was the mother of the person who had been bitten. He advised her to wait and let him find the dogs’ home.
When he arrived at the house, he attempted to make contact with the owner and the three dogs attacked him. Using his baton, he was able to keep the dogs at bay.
Amy Parker emerged and told him she was the owner of the dogs and they had escaped their pen.
The officer then went to the home of the victim, a 10-year-old boy, who had a superficial bite on his leg, the officer reported. The victim’s mother declined transport to the hospital and Pet Adoption and Welfare Services (PAWS) of Rutherford County was called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
