IOWA -- A teen from Fort Dodge has been charged with bestiality.
Fort Dodge Police Chief Kevin Doty said Nicholas Loftus, 18, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana, five counts of purchase/possession of depiction of minor in sex act and also possession of pictures depicting bestiality.
Police said evidence in the bestiality case was found during search warrants for two men from Fort Dodge who were pulled over in Nebraska coming back from Colorado. Those two men were charged with having 30 pounds of marijuana during an October traffic stop.
Police said that while executing the warrants at homes of the two men they found evidence on an electronic device owned by Nicholas Loftus.
One of the two men charged in Nebraska was Bryce Loftus, who is Nicholas' brother.
Nicholas Loftus was booked into the Webster County Jail on Tuesday and released pending his next court appearance. He is under supervision by a probation officer.
The case remains under investigation.
