This is what's wrong with our country: Rudy Espinoza gets more jail time for having ecstasy pills than for decapitating his mother's cat

OREGON -- A Marion County man accused of decapitating his mother's cat has plead guilty to Aggravated Animal Abuse and Delivery of MDMA, (a Schedule I Controlled Substance).

Rudy T. Espinoza was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff's Office on June 24, 2015, and a search warrant was served on his bedroom in the home he shared with his mother. On July 29 he was charged with Delivery and Manufacturing of MDMA (commonly known as Ecstasy) as a result of the investigation.


Espinoza was sentenced to two years in the Department of Corrections for animal abuse and 28 months for the delivery of a controlled substance.

Judge Jamese L. Rhoades ordered the sentences to run consecutively for a total of of 52 months.
