Connecticut: Veronica Reyes, 22, charged with hanging her dogs in Bristol

CONNECTICUT -- A Bristol woman was charged with two counts of animal cruelty after she allegedly killed her two dogs by hanging them from a tree and then buried the bodies in her yard.

This article doesn't say, but another article describes the dogs as pit bulls.

Officers initially began investigating Veronica Reyes, 22 of 509 Allentown Road, after she was reported missing Nov. 23.

During the course of the investigation they received information that she may have killed her two dogs by hanging them from a tree and then buried the animals in her yard, Lt. Richard Guerrera said.

Police offered few other details on the case other than that they obtained a warrant for her arrest on animal cruelty charges which was served today.

Reyes was held on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court Tuesday.
