Louisiana: Kenneth Singleton Jr. and Bryce Beaubouef, both 18, filmed themselves beating two raccoons with golf clubs, killing them "for the fun of it". They were so proud of their deranged cruelty, they posted the video on SnapChat

LOUISIANA -- The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division cited two Patterson teens for allegedly beating and killing two raccoons with golf clubs in December 2015 at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild golf course near Patterson, Lt. William Boyd said.

Kenneth Singleton Jr. (Ken Singleton), 18, and Bryce Beaubouef, 18, were cited on the charges of taken wild quadrupeds by illegal method and intentional concealment or depositing of wildlife illegally taken.

“Taken is a more pleasant word we use instead of ‘killing,’” Boyd said.

The blunt object used to beat and kill the two small animals was a golf club.

“If you take an animal, you can’t just throw them in trees afterward,” Boyd said.
“If you take that animal you have to consume it or whatever. You can’t just go
out, shoot and kill it or anything just for the fun of it.”

Both Singleton and Beaubouef will have to appear at St. Mary Parish 16th
Judicial District Court.

“We ended up doing a joint investigation with St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office with pursuing the cruelty to animals,” Boyd said.

The two teens also face state animal cruelty charges.

They became the subject of an investigation after a video showing a raccoon being beaten to death showed up on the social media site SnapChat.
