New York: This little pony is training to work with NYC's first responders

NEW YORK -- Meet Honor, who wants to be the shortest cop in the nation.

Honor arrived in the Big Apple on Thursday to start his training with a nonprofit called Gentle Carousel.

When he completes his two years of lessons, Honor will work with a unit of first responders to help comfort people in times of crisis.

As part of his welcome, the 8-month-old was treated to a slice of carrot cake at Serendipity 3 by the owner of the restaurant, Stephen Bruce.

Honor, who stands just over 2 feet tall and weighs only 95 pounds, is “fearless,’’ said Laurie Cabot of Gentle Carousel.

He was named in honor of the FDNY’s Rescue Company 1, which lost 11 members in the 9/11 attacks.
