OHIO -- An officer is being credited with rescuing a Cleveland Heights woman as she was being mauled by a dog.
When officer Everett Hayworth showed up to a call of a woman being attacked by a dog, he first tried to pull the dog off.
When that didn't work, he shot at the dog to make it let go of the woman. The dog then charged at the officer, so he shot again, killing the dog.
"Let me see how bad, let me see how bad you're bit. Hey, you're not dying, you're not dying. 16 radio, have EMS step it up, she's got several bite marks," you can hear on the body camera.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and later released.
