Pennsylvania: Robert Hites and Austin Langdon charged with animal cruelty after dead and starving animals found on farm

PENNSYLVANIA -- Animal Cruelty citations were filed Monday against two men in Mercer County who owned eight animals found dead last week on a small farm in Delaware Township.

The Humane Society of Mercer County filed the charges against Robert Hites and Austin Langdon both of Greenville.

Hites was charged with 11 counts of animal cruelty. Langdon was charged with four counts.

The charges were filed in Mercer District Court. No hearing date has been set.

Eight animals — three piglets, one pig, three calves and a rabbit — were found dead Dec. 29 on the property, and others were living in deplorable conditions at the farm located off of District Road.

Hites and Langdon were leasing the property.
