Illinois: David Diamond, 32, sent to work at animal shelter as part of his community service requirement. While there, he abused the animals.

ILLINOIS -- A man working at an animal shelter in Fairfield, Illinois as a part of community service is now charged with abusing one of the animals he was supposed to be taking care of.

32-year-old David Diamond faces preliminary charges of animal cruelty and disorderly conduct.

Fairfield Police were called to the Wayne County Humane Society on Monday. This comes after shelter workers saw surveillance video showing Diamond throw a dog out the back door of the facility and also choking the animal.

Eyewitness News has been told Diamond was immediately removed from the shelter and arrested. He has since bonded out of jail.
