OREGON -- Oregon City Police on Tuesday arrested Michael Aaron Wood, the Clark man wanted in connection with three counts of animal cruelty in Park County.
A warrant had been issued for Wood, 39, who currently is being held in the Clackamas County (Ore.) Detention Facility awaiting extradition, the Park County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page said.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office website lists Wood as a “fugitive from another state.” He is legally being held in accordance with Oregon State Law 133.743, which states “it is the duty of the Governor of this state [Oregon] to have arrested and delivered up to the executive authority of any other state of the United States any person charged in that state with treason, felony, or other crime, who has fled from justice and is found in this state.”

Wood was wanted in connection with the death of three dogs under his care due to apparent neglect.
He was already facing 13 counts of neglect in connection with the death and starvation of several of his horses.
Arrangements are being made to bring Wood back to face all 16 counts of animal cruelty and neglect.
