United Kingdom: Little girl mauled by Husky has "life-changing injuries" says Judge Sean Enright, but he still lets the owner, Sarah White, walk out of court a free woman(!)

UNITED KINGDOM -- The owner of a dog which savaged a schoolgirl as she watched the X Factor walked free from court after the victim’s family begged a judge not to jail her.

Georgia Sigourney, 13, needed 50 stitches to her face after being mauled by the Siberian Husky named Dakota.

She was left scarred for life following the horror attack as she watched Saturday night TV in October 2014.

A court heard the dog pounced after Georgia, aged 12 at the time, accidentally stood on its tail.

Owner Sarah White, from Peterborough, claimed she was looking after the dog – which has since died - for a friend.

But she was convicted by jurors last month of possessing a dog dangerously out of control.

White had been warned to expect a jail term but avoided an immediate prison sentence after Georgia's family begged for leniency.

Her father Chris wrote: "I do not think she deserves to go to prison. This was a mistake by Sarah."

Judge Sean Enright instead handed White a four-month suspended sentence and banned her from keeping dogs for five years.

He said: "The injuries are shocking, the worst I have seen in a case like this. She had multiple dog bites and has been left with life-changing injuries."
