CALIFORNIA -- The Fresno County District Attorney's office has filed animal cruelty charges, against a former employee of Foster Farms.
According to a statement, Gabriel Cevallos, 24, was charged with a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty, in connection to allegations that he physically mistreated several chickens at a Foster Farms processing plant, in March of 2015.
The allegations reportedly came to light, when a video recording of the incident was made public.
According to officials, Cevallos is facing a year in jail, as well as a five-year animal ownership or possession ban, if convicted.
