NEW YORK -- A Montgomery County woman will face a judge Thursday night after there were accusations that she let the health and well-being of her six horses deteriorate over the past five years.
Set back in the woods in Fort Hunter is a place investigators said six horses lived in “extreme pain” and with “severe medical issues” for up to five years. They said it was at the fault of 56-year-old Christine St. Amour.
NEWS10 ABC attempted to reach out to St. Amour on Thursday but without success.
Later, however, her husband said the horses are now being kept a rescue shelter in Buffalo.
Several neighbors on Queen Ann Road said they were shocked and sickened over the situation. Six pages of court documents outline the case.
A veterinarian that accompanied a deputy to the home said the horses hooves had not been trimmed in three years making it difficult for them to walk.
St. Amour will appear in Florida Town Court Thursday evening to answer to a misdemeanor charge for Animal Cruelty. Her husband told NEWS10 he expects everything to be resolved in court on Thursday.
