This was being the owner of a dog which caused injury while dangerously out of control. It followed an incident in the garden of his Manor Place home on April 6 last year.
The court heard Wildey's French Mastiff, called Samson, bit the boy's right thigh - leaving what the youngster's mother called a "huge bite mark".
A report on Wildey concluded he was a fit and proper person to look after dogs. Samson had since been put down at his request, the court was told.
Wildey was given a community order by Recorder John Corless and told to complete 40 hours' unpaid work. He must also pay compensation in recognition of the boy's injury.
