GEORGIA -- A pit bull was shot to death by a police officer after it repeatedly attacked another dog.
When officials arrived on the scene, a tan pit bull was seen attacking a smaller dog, which was on a walk with its owner.
According to the police report, after the pit bull "clamped down on both the dog's face and neck" the officer attempted to intervene by separating the two with his hands.
After separating the animals briefly, the pit bull continued to attack, forcing the officer to use OC "Pepper" spray on the animal.
After retreating for a moment, the Pit bull again went after the smaller dog. The report indicates the officer had "not other choice but to escalate to the final force option" and fired seven rounds into the pit bull.
No information was provided on the condition of the second dog.
