Texas: Charges dismissed against five accused of shooting at dogs

TEXAS -- Charges have been dismissed against five individuals accused of shooting at dogs near Fish Hatchery Road.

Carmen Alejandra Sandoval, 17, Alberto Rivera, 21, Jordan Jonathan Lerma, 18, and two juveniles had each been charged Tuesday night with one count of cruelty to non livestock animals.

The charges have since been dismissed, authorities said.

Why????

Police responded to the 200 block of Fish Hatchery Road Tuesday night after receiving a call of several people in a vehicle shooting at dogs in the neighborhood, authorities said.

Authorities said a witness was able to give police a description of the vehicle involved, which authorities spotted about the same time they were receiving the information.

The vehicle was stopped and those inside were questioned. During the investigation, police found a BB/pellet gun inside the vehicle in which the group was riding, authorities said.

After being positively identified by the witness as being involved in the shooting of the dogs, the group was taken into custody. The two juveniles were cited to juvenile court.
