Update: Manasseh Walker, 22, has been charged with animal cruelty
FLORIDA -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is seeking information related to an injured rabbit discovered in North Port, that investigators believe may have been lit of fire.
Animal Services Officers were called to a home in the 12000 block of Loranza Avenue on Sunday around 2:00 p.m., when a resident spotted the injured rabbit.
The animal was transported to a rehabilitation clinic in Venice where a veterinarian indicated its injuries may have been caused by an intentional act. Investigators believe the domestic rabbit, which is white in color, suffered these injuries within the last week.
The animal is expected to survive.
