Illinois: Macomb man, Levi Meyers, arrested after alleged animal cruelty

ILLINOIS -- Macomb Police arrested Levi Timothy James Meyers early Wednesday morning.

Macomb Police Chief, Eric Lenardt, states officers were dispatched to a trailer on S. Ward Street at 12:52 a.m. on a report that Meyers, 31 years old, was intentionally shutting a cat's tail in a door and had thrown a small dog or puppy against a wall.


When officers arrived on scene, they saw both animals and neither immediately required medical care.

Meyers was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and cruel treatment of animals.

Meyers is currently lodged in the McDonough County Jail with a bond set at $300.
