Oklahoma: Dead dog found left on chain; sweet looking Beagle mix rescued

OKLAHOMA -- On Saturday, June 25, Unchain OK volunteers assisted the Adair County Sheriff’s Department in recovering the corpse of a dog who had died on a chain.

The deceased dog was still on its chain after being dead for almost a week.

Volunteers brought back the decomposed body of the deceased dog, in order to get a necropsy done at the state lab in Stillwater to determine cause of death.

Pending the outcome of the necropsy, the expectation is that cruelty charges will be filed.

Bandit, a second chained dog at the same home was surrendered to Oklahoma Alliance for Animals. Bandit was taken to a veterinarian on Saturday evening and was found to be HW positive and has Eurlachia, a tick-borne disease.

Bandit should make a full recovery, but we need your help to ensure she gets the help she truly deserves!

Bandit is hoping you can find it in your heart to contribute to her care until she can be placed in a foster or permanent home where she will never feel another chain around her neck again.
