Tennessee: Andrew Rose, 19, charged with animal cruelty, accused of torturing and beating small dog nearly to death

TENNESSEE -- A Clarksville man was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty on Friday in connection with a May 29 incident.

According to an arrest warrant, Andrew Rose, 19, was left to care for Shoope, a 6-year-old Pomeranian, on May 29.

When owner Chelsey Morris returned home, she found the dog bleeding from the mouth, with a possible broken leg and labored breathing, according to the warrant.

On May 31, Morris took the dog to Sango Veterinary Hospital, and staff confirmed the dog was severely injured because of blunt force trauma, the warrant states.

The injuries could result in permanent nerve damage, paralysis and spinal cord damage, and the dog might have to be euthanized.

Rose, who gave a Chateauroux Drive address, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on $10,000 bond.
