California: Young dog rescued from hot car

CALIFORNIA -- A small dog was recently rescued from inside a hot car parked at Zuma Beach by a Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff’s deputy, according to the police station’s Facebook page.

The station received a call from a concerned visitor who saw the dog inside of the car, which had a window slightly cracked open. Sheriff’s deputy Joanna Krase responded to the area and located the vehicle with the dog inside.

Krase was able to unlock the vehicle and remove the dog, which was reportedly very thirsty and drank water right from Krase’s hand, according to the Facebook post.

Deputies were able to locate the dog’s owners, who were out-of-town visitors to Malibu, according to the post. The visitors did not realize when they arrived to the beach that they could not bring a dog onto the beach, so they decided to leave the dog in the vehicle.
