CJ Hutto returned to his home near 55th and Holmes to find his front door open and his dog’s blood on the floor.
Authorities said a burglar broke in and shot his dog, Grace Ann, in the face. She was taken to a vet for surgery. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The owner loves his dog very much and said he felt horrible that he wasn't home to protect Grace Ann.
Police are still searching for the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
