GEORGIA -- The owners of a Great Dane that was found in an emaciated condition by a Jones County deputy came from their vacation to an unpleasant surprise.
Capt. Earl Humphries with the Jones County Sheriff’s Office said warrants were issued for the arrest of Kristopher and Wendy Soles on the charge of cruelty to animals.
He said Deputy Marty Brownlee responded to a call about the condition of the dog June 13 and arrived at the home on Gary Road to find the Great Dane in an extreme state of starvation and neglect.
“The best we could tell, the owners are out of town and the adult Great Dane was left at their property. He was almost starved to death,” he said.
