NEW YORK -- An NYPD officer fatally shot a pit bull after the dog bit his hand in Queens early Sunday, police sources said.
The officer and his partner were responding to a call for an illegal eviction when they encountered the pit bull — described by sources as “aggressive” — on 154th St. near in Jamaica just after midnight, the sources said.
The dog then chomped down on the officer’s left hand, according to police sources.
That’s when cop fired one round, killing the dog.
The cop was later taken to North Shore Manhasset Hospital for tinnitus and the bite wound.
