The woman hopes the disturbing image will encourage witnesses to the attack to come forward.
The jogger had to have stitches in her leg after she was attacked. The victim was running on the pavement at around 8.15am on September 10.
A woman was walking her dogs in the opposite direction and, as the jogger passed, one of the dogs bit her leg and she fell to the floor.
The dog then continued to bite her leg until the owner of the dog pulled it away on its lead and then walked away with her two dogs.
The jogger, a 36 year-old woman from Woodville, was attacked in Occupation Lane, Woodville.
PC Beth Manley, who is dealing with the incident, said: "We have released the picture of the injury with the agreement of the woman who was bitten to show that she suffered a nasty injury to her leg as a result of the incident.
"We are very keen to speak to the person walking the dog so we can work with them to try and ensure that this type of thing does not happen again."
The woman received three stitches to the wound on her leg.
PC Manley said: "The dog that bit the jogger was described as a dark-coloured Staffordshire pit bull terrier and the other as a 'terrier-type' dog.
"The woman walking the dogs, who police would like to speak to about the incident, was described as white, slim, in her late 40s with short blonde hair in a bob style. It is thought she was wearing a pink-coloured walking coat."
Anyone who saw the incident, or who has information about the dog owner, is asked to contact PC Beth Manley on 101 quoting reference 16000275563.
