United Kingdom: Shocking video shows Darren Yerby beating his dog for 10 minutes

UNITED KINGDOM -- The horrifying clip shows thug Darren Yerby holding his dog, Buzz, by the neck before swinging him by the throat.

His twisted actions were captured on CCTV and show the yob brutally beating the black pit bull and savagely aim a kick at its face.

Yerby’s hellish abuse continued for 10 minutes against the four-year-old hound.

Incredibly the loyal pet follows Yerby around Chelmsford, Essex, after the onslaught and even dangles complicity as he is held by the neck.

The Danbury man also yanks at the lead so hard he pulls the collar clean off the dog’s neck.

A short section of the footage has now been released by Chelmsford City Council which captured the heartbreaking assault on its CCTV cameras.

Incredibly Yerby, 36, begged for his dog to be returned after a court banned him from owning a pet for two years.

Yerby appeared in Chelmsford Crown Court in a desperate bid too be reunited with the hound he called his “son” – but a judge threw it out after being subjected to the nauseating footage captured on May 27.

The audacious appeal backfired when the court INCREASED the banning order by an extra year.

Recorder Michael Ashe said: “The CCTV is a quite appalling spectacle to look at. The appeal is refused and the disqualification period is increased to three years.”

Yerby had previously banned from owning a dog for two years and was slapped with a community order and 200 hours of unpaid work handed down at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court in June.

At the recent appeal hearing at the crown court prosecutor Gavin Capper said: “Buzz suffered a bruised leg in the incident and it is quite fortunate to be a dog that is effectively just muscle and teeth.

“It would be my submission that the disqualification is right and proper and perhaps even on the generous side.”

“Amazingly, the dog still continues to follow Mr Yerby. You can see at this this point that the dog is again being compliant, there is no resistance there at all.

“There is another kick to face and the dog starts to cower on the floor before it is grabbed.”

  1. Good he's banned from owning a dog, BUT... Considering his statement that the pit bull is his 'son', he should also have to undergo mandatory sterilization (done in a way that can't be reversed). Better not to be born than to have a father like this.
